Laguna Seca 2011

On July 22-24, 2011, I went to my sixth MotoGP race at Laguna Seca in Monterey, California since 2006.  I’ve had the opportunity to see my favorite racer, Valentino Rossi #46, a.k.a. “The Doctor,” race before.  Once again this year, I got a paddock pass and the Rev Limiter pass, and was able to see him “up-close and personal.”  However, this time once again everything was so completely different.

This time, I went for all three days of the race.  The first two days I went with my friend Heidi.  I was a good fan in that I was at the track really early in the mornings trying to get photos of him plus autographs.  The Rev Limiter pass allowed me to go to the front of the track and take better photos of Rossi and the other riders.  I got his autograph once again on the second day, but was unable to get any photos taken with him.  Woo!!!!!

On the third day, I went with Heidi once again, but I also brought Alisa along.  It was her first motorcycle race ever.  I brought with me a couple of photos I took of him hoping he would sign them.  While waiting for him to return from the morning warm-up (Alisa stood next to me), a professional photographer saw the photo and said it was extremely good, so that made my day.  When Rossi returned, he signed my photos and I was finally able to get that desired photo with him.  Alisa said that it looked as if I was about to cry when he let me take a photo with him.  he even put his hand on my shoulder.  I was so happy, and I am still happy!!!!!  This was the best race year ever.

Here are some of the pictures I took:
